Cozy Witch
Play along as Violet, a brand new Witch, hot off her apprenticeship and just arrived in Cozy Vale. Together, you'll meet plenty of other residents, explore the world, brew potions, cast spells, and make a new niche for yourself.
This is a game I made for my Unity I final. It's not very stable so please try not to break it too hard. When you do find issues, be sure to leave a comment! This semester has been entirely too busy and I haven't been able to dedicate nearly as many hours to this project as it deserves or needs.
That being said: "E" is the interact button but I wanted to allow for "E" and spacebar to progress dialogue, and somehow that resulted in some choices only being selectable with spacebar. When in doubt, press spacebar.
Don't be too enthusiastic with buttonmashing, however. This thing is held together with Elmer's Glue. Buttonmashing the interact buttons will sometimes activate events ahead of time. It shouldn't break the game but it'll ruin the immersion.
I couldn't get the portraits to disappear. I've told the code over and over to quit it, but it won't. I haven't had the time to figure it out. Similar thing with... essentially the whole game. A lot of the sequences are faked because I kept breaking the real code. In truth, this is the idea of a game.
This is my first time coding anything original in C#. I'm constantly vexed by not being able to just tell it what to do in simple terms. Still, this was made solo, from the ground up (with a healthy amount of kitbashing), in pretty much 48 hours. I made the two characters myself, as well as the houses and the greenhouse. I had to downsize the characters because it was my first time making pixel art game assets and I didn't nail down the scaling properly. The jitteriness is due to the scaling down. I'll be rectifying that.
The potion "puzzle" was definitely supposed to be an actual puzzle but I had to choose a game you could attempt to play through over being trapped in a room with a mediocre puzzle that only MIGHT work.
Also all the UI got squished.
